Babies at Church

We now have an area set up in the main Church building for parents with babies in arms. You can watch and listen to the service and sit in comfort with your baby – and enjoy a free hot drink!

We also understand that breastfeeding mums may want some privacy during the service so we have a separate room available. If you would like to use this room, please speak to a FaithBuilders’ leader.

Comfy seating for parents, and a selection of toys and soft play are available. Mothers can also breastfeed privately and we provide bottle-warming facilities. The main church service is relayed through a live TV link so that parents can follow the service whilst caring for their children.

For 12 months up to 2 ½ years

We now have a wonderful room for children aged 12 months and up.

Soft play, stories and more!

Our Precious Pebbles group encourages free play for our littlest little ones. Sunday mornings includes a story time, song time and drink and biscuit time.

Our leaders are fully trained and will be happy to discuss with you to support your child. Contact us or come and talk to us on a Sunday if you’d like to find out more.

For 2 ½ years to
4 years old (Starting school)

Laying the foundations is key with our wonderful group of Foundation Stones. Our main focus for the children to learn that church is a fun place to be!

A fun place to be!

In Foundation Stones the morning starts with play! Everything from play-dough to craft, building bricks to dolls and animals...

Foundation Stones join the older children in Wow Time after about 30 minutes. We sing songs with lots of actions and learn to dance and praise God.

Discover the stories of the Bible – with a wonderful FaithBear!

After Wow Time worship and praise, we then go back to our room for a story. Each week we hear a different story from the Bible. And to help us discover these stories, our Foundation Stones have a new friend - their very own FaithBear!

After the story, we often pray with the children, sometimes they say their own prayers too. This is followed by a drink and biscuit time.

The children then make something that relates to the story and the FaithBear. They can then go home and play with the craft and bear – and tell the FaithBear all about what they’ve learned in FaithBuilders that Sunday. And, each child will have a bag to keep the bear and all the craft in – how exciting!

We finish the morning with a group game and if the service runs on we look at books or have another free play time.

We are happy for children to bring a comfort toy with them if it helps them to settle in (e.g. a doll or a bear). If you’re visiting for the first time, why not contact us and tell us the names of your children so we can greet them with a warm welcome on the door!

For Reception to Year 2 (Ages 4 - 7)

The excitement continues in Little Gems where we follow the similar plan to the big kids but make sure that it’s little enough for our little gems.

A place for friendships...

Welcome time is filled with free play – lots of toys and games for children to play together and build friendships! The really little ones and the big kids then come to our room for Wow Time!

A place for fun!

After we’ve sung songs, learnt the Wow Moment of the morning and watched something exciting, we go back to our groups and have a chat about what’s new for this week. Little Gems often have a craft activity or game to play after enjoying a drink and biscuit time.

Have a look at our visual timetable to find out more about the structure of the morning.

For Years 3, 4 and 5 (Ages 7 - 10)

Welcome, Huddle In, Break Out activities and Wind Down all form parts of a Cool Jewel's Sunday morning. Not forgetting the fun-filled Wow Time!

Lots of fun activities...

In Cool Jewels we follow the same visual timetable as the other groups. The morning starts with lots of free play – everything from table football to connect four, snakes and ladders to making bracelets! Welcome is followed by the wonderful Wow Time with all the other kids in FaithBuilders.

In Huddle In, Cool Jewels chat about the Wow Moment and what today’s story means to us – it’s also a nice time to have a drink and biscuit. We also Break Out into another room – this could be a team or group game to play, or something to make!

For Year 5 (Ages 9 - 10)...

We have all the same the same action packed activities as Cool Jewels, but with a little more depth to make us Rock Solid.

Become Rock Solid!

Rock Solid follows the same visual timetable as the other groups but we take the main points of the morning and learn about them at a deeper level! (But not like school...it’s fun).

After starting the morning with lots of games and activities to choose from, we join the other kids in Wow Time to sing songs, and watch something exciting that tells us about the story we learn each week.

For Huddle In, we have a drink and biscuit and chat about what the story means to us. Rock Solid then Break Out with something to make or do!
